Busy weekend

Well, we lasted 27 hours out of the hospital, but we are back home again! Saturday night, Brody's oximeter alarm kept going off so much we didn't know if the problem was Brody or the monitor, so we brought him in to the hospital. It turned out to be a combination of a bad cord and Brody. We stayed Saturday and Sunday nights for observation and tests. Brody is needing a little more oxygen than planned. We ruled out any infections and swallowing problems. We are back at home now, trying to get into a routine.

  1. How wonderful to have Brody home! I hope that he will stabilize and grow like crazy. One day you will look back at these last few months and it will all be behind you. Brody will play, laugh, eat, make messes around the house, beg to stay up past his bedtime and make you smile and laugh with joy. I pray for all of you every day!

  2. I was just checking in and congrats on being home as a family. There really is no place like home with your sweet baby. I will offer a little advice on the previous post: Yes this will all be behind you, but it always lingers in your mind with every milestone he will make. My preemie just turned 5, took his training wheels off of his bike and all I can think about is my tiny baby is so grown up. Then I reminisce about nicu events and compare them to where we are today. I really wish the memories of the NICu would vanish.

Again, congrats on being home- this is a HUGE milestone-one you will always remember.
