Brody spent some time with his cousins, Collin and Natalie.  They are visiting from Florida.  It was a lot of fun!

Our little guy

At 2 1/2, Brody is starting to talk very well.  His new word is "what?".  When you call his name, he responds "what?".  He is starting to use phrases and short sentences, such as "no Mommy, don't!" and "I don't want that".  He says "excuse me Mommy", or "excuse me kitty" when he wants to get by.  He loves to do things on his own, and says "I do it!".  He likes to read books and is just starting to have enough attention span to look at one from start to finish.  He is very interested in all the pictures and can identify a lot of things.  His easiest things to identify are cat, dog, bird, hat, baby, ball, monkey, etc.

He has such a great personality.  He likes to pretend.  He puts his backpack on or grabs the handle on his bucket, puts his sunglasses on and waves and says "bye".  He yells "hi" at just about anybody walking by or to the neighbor across the street.  Every elderly person is "grandma" or "papa".  He calls our neighbors, Tom and Flo that.  He'll see them from the front window and yell "Hi Grandma".  He also calls Aunt Shelly Grandma, not because she is elderly, but because she looks like his Grandma!  He sleeps pretty well, but wakes up sometimes in the middle of the night.  Sometimes we let him cry for a few minutes and he goes back to sleep, and other times he is awake so we rock him or take him into our room.

His favorite foods are spagetti, bananas, and string cheese.  He eats a variety of foods, like grapes, strawberries, cantaloupe, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, broccoli, carrots, and toast. He loves butter and he would eat it alone if we give it to him! He likes ice cream, and anything chocolate!

He likes to go to the splash pad and the wading pool.  We have several around town that we take him to.  He has a lot of energy and is always busy, so we try to take him to the playground and do things with him after work.  He really likes his daycare, although he cries a bit when it is time to say good-bye to us for the day.  They say it lasts about 30 seconds and then he plays with the other kids.

We are very lucky to have such a good boy.
